Gus
Hi Colleen and Adam,
We thought that you may like to see "Gus". We feel so lucky that he was able to come into our lives!!! He couldn't be a more wonderful companion! Every day he finds a way to endear himself into our hearts. We continue to laugh at his personality. He has been so good in our house--he has yet to get into anything!! We did learn quickly however, that FOOD is his passion-- I needed to move the butter tray a bit further back on the counter!!!! We continue to be so amazed that his previous owners could not see what a great dog he was! Jim and he have a tight relationship--he goes wherever Jim does--lots of rides and walks! He loves to "snuggle" with me ( on the bed, on the floor, in the chair---where-ever!) We're still working on a bit of seperation anxiety when we both have to leave. You can certainly see his "left over baggage" in this area. But, the greetings when we get home would be fit for royalty!! We introduced him the the dog park last week with our daughter and her dog "Stanley"--he wasn't quite sure but once he got into the swing, he ran like a wild man! Again, Thanks for all you do-- we couldn't have had a better Xmas gift! We know that you will be able to bring joy into other peoples' lives matching the perfect pet to owner! Have a wonderful New Year--- Cathy, Jim and Gus
EthelHi Everyone!!!
Ethel has been an AMAZING girl so far, and her goofy personality fits her name so well! We've been able to leave her alone for up to 2 hours and came home with the Christmas tree still standing, and only one item chewed up (which can be repaired). She's really excited in the morning when she wakes up, and we are working on getting her on a routine - there is just so much fun stuff going on in and we have to check everything out.... The best part - she's definitely MY baby so far.... Follows me everywhere and sleeps on the floor on my side of the bed!
THANK YOU for helping us find our baby for us, she is such a sweetheart!

Ardi
Ardi is LOVING his new home. He's getting along great w/Daisy & Sadie. It took awhile, but now they're all BFF's. Ardi really loves his "uncle" Bronx. We watched him for a week while my dad was hunting & they played non-stop. They're both pups 5/6 months old! They had a blast. Here are some pics of Ardi in his new home. He's getting bigger & gaining weight every day. We love him so much. Thank you!! Bronx and Ardi are pictured together along w/Daisy & Sadie.
Happy Holidays! Beth & Paul Tisdell
Muffin
"Dear Gregory’s of Hope,
Ever since we took Muffin home, she’s been doing great. Although our other two cats are still getting use to her, she’s having a blast at her new home. She has a little foot fetish with attacking/pouncing on our feet and biting them, but she also loves to play. We are at the process of getting her to eat dry food, where we mix canned food with dry food together, which she loves. She is also loves to cuddle, where she sleeps around your neck, or on your chest; she also has the loudest purr we’ve ever heard coming from a cat. My family has just fallen in love with her, with her adorable meow, her beautiful coat, and just how much she entertains us when she’s playful. Although not only us, but when our friends and relatives met Muffin, they thought she was absolutely adorable, and they loved playing and having a ball with Muffin. We thank you so much for giving us the chance to adopt her. As me and my Mom come to volunteer more, we will be sure every once in awhile, that she comes with us for a visit, to see you guys at Mally’s again, and to play with the other cats while we are at work pleasing the other animals. Thanks so much Gregory’s!"
Sincerely: Helen and Leah Derrick, and Muffin.
Dozer
"Wanted to let you know what an absolutely wonderful dog Dozer is and tell you that all is going perfect with him."

Drew
"Hello!
I know this email is way overdue considering I adopted Drew from you way back in January and now the summer is coming to an end. I have attached a couple of pictures and a very funny video of Drew and his new "Brother" Stanley who my roommate adopted from the humane society here in Madison when he was just a tiny kitten. Drew and Stanley have been inseparable ever since he came to live with us.
I just wanted to thank you for Drew! He is my best friend. I take him everywhere with me and we have so much fun. He is such a sweet dog that everyone just loves him. I recently moved into a house with a huge backyard and Drew has fun tearing around the backyard like a maniac. We also go to the huge dog park in Verona at least twice a week. He absolutely loves his time there. Drew is such an asset to my life and i really cant imagine living a day without him! Thank you for helping him find me." Sincerely,
Hillary Holman
Cain, Cody and Brut
Cody and Cain came to GGOH after a family in Hudson could not find homes for these 2 remaining pups from an unexpected litter. They were so sweet and cute they were swooped up before they could even hit the available page of the website. They are doing fantastic in their new furever home and are enjoying their new big brother and of course their human friends too.
"The boys are doing great. They are such a joy to both of us. They really are smart, learn quickly... They know all these commands already -- no, down, stay, sit. Working on "sit pretty" and "shake" too!!"
"Brut absolutely LOVES them... He plays with them every AM and PM for about an hour then he's absolutely exhausted."

Ben and Miki
Ben and Miki were two lovely rescues from back before we even had a website. Ben, a beautiful Siberian husky and Miki, an adorable golden retriever, were both lucky enough to be adopted by a very loving couple. First Ben went to live in his new furever home and it wasn't long before Sally and Mike new they needed a friend for Ben. They returned to GGOH and again found it in their hearts to give Miki her new furever home. They now have lots of fun with these two and all of their antics. We are thankful for Ben and Miki's new guardians and they are some very lucky dogs.

"This is how Ben and Kayla spent their day yesterday. How many dogs know how to use a ladder when they want to jump into the pool! Just thought I would let you know that yes, they are living the life!!" |

"Ben is such a ham and he has to be doing everything that my grandson does so I put a baseball helmet on him while we were out in the yard playing tee ball and he left that thing on his head for a half an hour!" |
Casey
Casey is fitting in quite well at his new furever home. Casey's new guardians write "He burrows into a blanket on the couch in the basement and basks in the warmth of the pellet stove. It’s hard to get a picture where he doesn’t look mad – but he’s really a happy cat. In the morning I find him in the bathtub – waiting for a drink. Then he comes downstairs to burrow. Nights are spent on Sofia’s bed. He’s a funny cat.
K~
We are so happy for Casey and are glad that the Gigure family was able to take him in and give him a safe happy life full of love. THANKS SOPHIA FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF THE BIG BOY!!!! Adam & Colleen
Chico (Dandy)

This is Chico, He came to GGOH as Dandy and went immediately into foster care. His foster family has decided to make Dandy part of their family now after having him visiting for a few weeks. We are so happy for Dandy and for the William's family. We think they will both gain a lot from each other. Many happy tails together. Chico's new guardian says "He has some really good manners, he is so loving and he fits right in… we love him. J Thank you so much for finding him for us!
O'Malley Greetings from O'Malley and his new family.. As you can see he did not let his transition to his new home affect his nap time. He is fitting in with our family very well, and is even playing with our other cat Charlie now.. We are so happy!! He will be getting neutered on Fri. the 27th, so Thurs. night will be a long one for him as he likes to eat alot! :-) I'm sure he will be fine though. We feel so blessed to have such a lovable kitten in our family. Thanks for all you do!! It takes very special people to take in and care for all these little guys'.
Have a blessed day!
The Rudau Family
Bianca (now Annie) and June
"Thought you may like an update on Annie and June. They are both doing wonderful. They both have adapted well, even though June is still a little timid of our husky malamute (she has always been a little shy to begin with so I am not surprised). They are so happy to have each other to play with. We hear them in the middle of the night chasing each other. Annie seems to be twice the size of June. I have attached a picture of the two and hope to make it to Farm and Home Saturday. "

Sweet Pea
Sweet Peas has had the best adoption possible. She has been reunited with her original owners. Sweet Pea came to Gregory's back in April of this year by way of animal control. Sweet Pea had been running at large when she was picked up by the New Richmond animal control and taken into custody. After her required holding time and no one reclaiming her she was then brought into Countryside Veterinary Clinic for euthanasia. GGOH volunteers just happened to be at the clinic with another one of our rescue animals when we saw Sweet Pea being brought in. Upon animal controls departure we quickly questioned her fate. We were told of her pending euthanization and we then quickly intervened.
Sweet Pea was taken into the custody of her new owners, Gregory's Gift of Hope. Sweet Pea was with us at the program for several months where she did very well, made new 4 legged friends and won the hearts of all of our volunteers. She has a very special personality. A couple weeks ago Sweet Pea had the best day of her life when a couple arrived at the program looking to adopt a dog. As they walked down the kennel isle the young gal exclaimed "that's my dog". It turns out they had lost Sweet Pea, alias Stoney, back in February of this year. What a reunion. She quickly retrieved a picture of herself and her dog and no mistaking it, it was good old Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea even knew who they were as she approached them right away, this in itself was unusual, although Sweet Pea is a very "sweet" dog she was always at first, with everyone, a little standoffish. What a great day for Sweet Pea and a great day for all of us at Gregory's, to see a dog reunited with it's owners after 9 + months is so heartwarming. It' helps to make all of our rescuing days just a little bit brighter.
Colby

Colby “Wally” is a great addition to our family. He is a fun loving puppy that is great with the kids. He loves to play ball, take rides in the car (he has even been known to jump in other people’s vehicles unexpectedly), and take walks. He is in heaven when the kids are playing baseball, basketball or on the trampoline because he loves to be near them. He does great in his kennel at night and when we are gone. He goes right in when we say “kennel up”. When we are home, he is also trained to ring a bell on the sliding door to let us know he has to go outside. We couldn’t ask for a better dog and we love him so much!! Thank you GGOH!! The Hunt’s Tami, Kevin, C.J., Josie, Jarrett and “Wally”
Casey (Laika)
My name is Jessica Burke, and Alex Voves and I adopted Casey the Akita on December 15th, 2007. We spoke with Adam when we visited her and when we adopted her. She has been working out great in our family.
We renamed her, to symbolize her new start with her permanent family, to Laika. The name is in recognition to the first animal, which happened to be a dog, to go into space. She has been camping with us, enjoys hiking and walks, and loves getting together with family and friend's dogs. We love her so much and she fits right into our family. We have found out about some issues she has, mainly separation anxiety. We have been working with her a lot as these issues started to present themselves. Laika is the perfect dog in any situation, until we leave. She then panics and has become destructive to herself and the house. Alex and I could not stand seeing her get so anxious that she would hurt herself unintentionally out of panic. But we are committed to her and will work on anything. Thus, we took her the the University of Minnesota dog behaviorist clinic March 12, 2008. She is learning new behaviors to cope with the separation so she does not head down that mental pathway of destructive anxiety when we are not there. Laika is improving tremendously, we are so happy with her.
Thank you so much for helping Laika find her final home with us, we love her so much! Everyone that meets her thinks she is such a well-behaved dog. -Jessica Burke and Alex Voves

Bugaboo
After a pretty uneventful 40-minute ride to my house on Saturday, Bug jumped out of the carrier and immediately started exploring. Within the first couple of hours, he' d found a few toys, knew where the litter box was, drank water, sat in the window, been in the basement with me, dozed in my lap, and head-butted me several times for some love. He slept by my side the first night, as well. I think the transition is going great.
Yesterday was a test, as I had a long day at work. I went home at lunch to check on him - there he was, lying in front of a window, napping. I think we' ll do just fine.
And yes, that' s the bathroom sink that he' s in, in the photo. This morning I let the water run in the sink in a trickle. He was biting at it, trying to catch it.
Did you know he snores???!!! So cute.
Thank you! Deanna & Bugaboo
Ben &Miki
Ben, the Siberian Husky came to us via animal control after being picked up wandering in aneighboring town. He was fostered for a bit to check his temperment, which is wonderful. He then was adopted by a couple in Somerset, Wi. Just last weekend Miki, the golden retriever mix, who came to us from a divorce situation, with another dog, who was adpopted out about 2 weeks ago, got to go to her new home with the couple who adopted Ben. They thought he should have a pal to hang out with, they came down to the program to see Miki, put them together and they were friends immediately. Now both are in a happy safe home. We couldn't ask for anything better.
Brewster Brewster is a black lab who was brought into Countryside vet Clinic in New Richmond for euthanization from a surrounding township, where he was running at large. He was about 1 year old and was in great health. He had a sweet disposition. Countryside immediately called us to work together to find a new home. Brewster's veterinary needs were attended to by Countryside then he was transported to Gregory's where he would stay until a new home could be found.
Brewster was adpoted by a gentleman who after his adoption brought him for doggy daycare when he had to work, at Mally's Sunshine Kennels. So even though we have our rescues go to new homes, which we are greatful for, we still get to see many on a regular basis which is so rewarding. We become bonded with our rescues, we are always happy to find them new homes but to say we don't miss them would be a lie. We have met such great animals! |
